Doucette nets hat trick, leads Waterloo to 5-0 win over Brampton

Ryan Doucette netted a hat trick to lead the Waterloo Siskins over the Brampton Bombers, 5-0.

Doucette notched his first tally 1:59 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:15 into the second and at 3:31 into the third.

Darren Huck frustrated Brampton's offense all game, and stopped 27 shots en route to a shutout. Huck certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.9 entering the contest.

Waterloo pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 46 penalty minutes.

The Siskins made the Bombers' netminders to work all game long, launching 32 shots and forcing 27 saves. Bryan Raymond made 20 stops and Erik Angeli made seven. Waterloo stifled Brampton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Waterloo also got points from Adam Campagnolo, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Waterloo also got a goal from Eric Cimino as well. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Jakub Jelen, who had two and Trevor Atkinson APJ, Matt Cruickshank, James Soper, Stephen Witiuk, and Christian Mroczkowski, who contributed one a piece.

The Bombers' offense operated below they season average. Brampton averages 2.8 goals per game. The Bombers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 44 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Brampton registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities.
