London falls apart in second, loses to Lambton Shores, 9-2

The Lambton Shores Predators used a five-goal second period to put away the London Nationals, 9-2.

Cale Duberry was all over the ice for Lambton Shores, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Duberry scored on the power play 3:39 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lambton Shores. The Predators had taken the advantage when London's Ryan Wells got sent off for tripping. Jim McKinlay provided the assist.

Lambton Shores forced the Nationals' netminders to work between the pipes, launching 34 shots and forcing 25 saves. Nick Dampier made 11 stops and Taylor Edwards made 14. The Predators put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow London to score on any of its five power plays. Lambton Shores found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Predators average 3.2 goals per game.

Lambton Shores also got points from Kyle Brothers, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Adam Arseneault, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Cleo Gubbles, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lambton Shores also had goals scored by Ryan Rontondi, who had three and Adam Wammes and Keegan Hnatiw, who each put in one. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Austin Fetterly and Kyler Keating, who each chipped in one and Connor Annett and Ferdinando Colella, who contributed two a piece.

The Nationals' offense rang up 38 shots on Lambton Shores' net.

London was helped by Jonathan Sims, who racked up one goal. Sims scored 9:00 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores. Shawn Crowley assisted on the tally. London also got a goal from Derek Todosichuk as well. In addition, London received assists from Ryan Tuffin and Aaron Dartch, who each chipped in one.

Brandon Campbell made 36 saves for the Predators on 38 shots. Lambton Shores totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. For the Predators, Duberry was ejected from the game. The Nationals ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. London ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sean Consitt was ejected from the game.
