The Guelph Hurricanes tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Stratford Cullitons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Stratford took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Guelph storm back on a Matt Lippa goal 11:42 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Cullitons were led by Jared Culliton, who tallied one goal. Culliton scored 15:11 into the second period to make the score Stratford. Mike Pleon assisted on the tally.

The Hurricanes were unable to stop Stratford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cullitons eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Trevor Sauder also scored for Stratford. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Jonathan Langford, Ryan Watson, Shane O Brien, and Brett Heaman, who contributed one a piece.

Guelph also got a goal from Ian Chan as well. More assists for Guelph came via Michael Courvoisier, who had one.

Stratford's Michael Pesendorfer stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Cullitons totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Stratford, Liam Maaskant and Jake Pleon were ejected from the contest. Jason DaSilva made 40 saves for Guelph on 43 shots.
