Harry Polyoka tallied two points to lead the Stoney Creek Warriors to a 3-0 victory over the Thorold Blackhawks.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:28 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Stoney Creek excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Zach Niemanen also scored for Stoney Creek. More assists for Stoney Creek came via Blake Luscombe, who had two and Marco Mattina and Jordan Thomas, who contributed one a piece.

Thorold was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 57 minutes in penalty time. The Blackhawks surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Thorold put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Warriors to score on any of their 10 power plays. The Blackhawks could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Thorold averages 3.7 goals per game.

Blake Richard rejected 24 shots on goal for Stoney Creek. The Warriors ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Stoney Creek, Polyoka was ejected from the game. Brendan Polasek made 21 saves for the Blackhawks on 24 shots. For Thorold, Brian Brosnan and Myles Falasca were ejected from the contest.
