Caledonia downs Cambridge in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Caledonia Corvairs' Matt Quilty scored 10 seconds into overtime to beat the Cambridge Winter Hawks, 2-1 (OT).

Caledonia was led by goalie Justis Husak, who finished with 41 saves while allowing one goal. Husak managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.54 prior to the game.

The Corvairs were led by Quilty, who finished with one goal.

Caledonia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Corvairs did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Caledonia puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. The Corvairs kept Cambridge's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lucas Machalski made 58 saves on 60 shots.

Caledonia also got a goal from Nate Mitton as well. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Brier Jonathan, Tyler Norrie, and Brandon Montour, who each chipped in one.

The Winter Hawks were held below their usual level of production. Cambridge averages 3.7 goals per game. The Winter Hawks' offense rang up 42 shots on Caledonia's net.

Cambridge was led by Chris Taylor, who scored the team's only goal. Taylor scored 8:37 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge. Todd Bannermon picked up the assist.

The Corvairs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Winter Hawks ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Cambridge, Aaron Duggan was ejected from the game.
