Chatham survives Strathroy comeback, wins 3-2

The Chatham Maroons survived a determined comeback attempt by the Strathroy Rockets on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Eric Palazzolo put Chatham up 2-0 in the second period, but Strathroy pulled to within one on Wes Baker's tally 3:56 into the third period.

The Maroons pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Rockets were unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Chatham was led by Brennan Feasey, who racked up one goal and one assist. Feasey scored 19:56 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Chatham. Chatham also got a goal from Alexander Morgan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Michael Verboom, Sean Myers, and Blake Blondeel, who contributed one a piece.

Strathroy's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Chatham power plays.

Stuart King also scored for Strathroy. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Tyler Duarte, Blake O`Neill, and Dalen Kuchmey, who each chipped in one.

Darien Ekblad rejected 27 shots on goal for the Maroons. Kuchmey recorded 36 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
