Dima Lavrenov netted a hat trick to lead the Port Colborne Pirates over the Fort Erie Meteors, 5-2. Lavrenov notched his first tally 13:55 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:45 into the second and at 17:49 into the second.Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:04 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Port Colborne was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and three majors for 51 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game the Pirates had been spending in the box. Port Colborne's offense rang up 38 shots on Fort Erie's net.
