Kurtis Lavis gave the St. Marys Lincolns a 4-3 (OT) victory over the St. Thomas Stars when he scored 2:34 into the extra period. Lavis was all over the ice for St. Marys, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. St. Marys additionally got points from Tyson Baker, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. St. Marys also got a goal from David Sproat as well. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Calvin Penney, who had two and Cody Filson and Marcus Gverzdys, who contributed one a piece. St. Thomas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six St. Marys power plays. The Lincolns were unable to stop the Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Thomas eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Stars could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. St. Thomas was helped by Reid Oliver, who racked up one goal. Oliver scored 52 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Thomas. Scott Mitchell provided the assist. Mike Iacocca also scored for St. Thomas. Other players who recorded assists for St. Thomas were Blair Mincer and Ryan Hamelin, who each chipped in one. St. Marys' Jacob Theut stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Lincolns incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Devin Golets made 21 saves for the Stars on 25 shots. St. Thomas registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
