Huge game by Swift boosts Caledonia over Cambridge, 6-3

Jeff Swift was all over the ice for the Caledonia Corvairs, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Caledonia's 6-3 win over the Cambridge Winter Hawks.

Swift beat Lucas Machalski with a shot 7:24 into the second period on the power play to make the score 4-1 Caledonia. The Corvairs earned a power play opportunity when Mitch Facey was put in the box for slashing. Spencer Gourlay picked up the assist. Swift dished an assist on Connor Murphy's goal that made the score 2-1 Caledonia at 9:06 into the first period. He added another helper on Matt Quilty's goal that made the score 6-3 Caledonia at 9:05 into the third period.

Caledonia stifled Cambridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Caledonia additionally got points from Gourlay, who also registered one goal and two assists, Murphy, who also had one goal and one assist, and Quilty, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Leonard Dziemianko also scored for Caledonia. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Tyler Norrie and Marc Silvestri, who contributed one a piece and Adam Brady and Brandon Montour, who each chipped in two.

The Winter Hawks were helped by Maxime Lamontagne, who grabbed one goal. Lamontagne scored 2:53 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Caledonia. Cambridge also got a goal from Hudson Michaelis as well. In addition, Cambridge received assists from Aaron Duggan, Andrew Coupland, Chris Taylor, and Todd Bannermon, who contributed one a piece.

Justis Husak recorded 22 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Cambridge's Machalski stopped 24 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Winter Hawks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
