Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Waterloo Siskins defeated the Brampton Bombers in a shootout 5-4 (4-3 SO). The shootout featured 12 attempts between both teams. Brampton got shootout goals from Reid Jackman, Brandon Clelland, and Phil Caputo. Waterloo's other shootout goals were scored by Andrew Brubacher, Stephen Witiuk, and Ryan Doucette.The Siskins overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Waterloo trailed 4-2 after a goal by the Bombers' Jackman at 19:15 in the second period. The Siskins tied things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Evan Buehler at 17:38 in the third period. Waterloo excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Siskins' offense rang up 33 shots on Brampton's net. Waterloo was led by James Soper, who tallied three goals and one assist. Waterloo also got points from Buehler, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Christian Mroczkowski, who had two and Trevor Atkinson APJ, Matthew Mah, Matt Cruickshank, and Brubacher, who contributed one a piece. Brampton additionally got points from Nik Borschevsky, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Kyle Allan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Connor Andersen, who had one, Brady Clouthier, who had two, and Jacob Hanlon, who had three. PJ Bridges made 17 saves for the Siskins on 21 shots. Waterloo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Bombers' Bryan Raymond stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Brampton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
