Leamington beats Lambton Shores 4-2 after comeback scare

The Lambton Shores Predators tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Leamington Flyers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

Leamington made the score 4-1 on a goal by Myles Doan at 2:50 in the third period, and Lambton Shores got as close as 4-2 when Cleo Gubbles scored 9:40 into the third period.

The Flyers forced the Predators goalie Brandon Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

Leamington also got a goal from Alex Seguin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were Jacob McGhee, who had two and David Dalby, Nathan Opblinger, Joe Manchurek, Kyle Bowman, Tony Spidalieri, and Brett Langlois, who each chipped in one.

Lambton Shores put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Leamington to score on any of its four power plays. The Predators' offense rang up 32 shots on the Flyers' net.

Ryan Rontondi also scored for Lambton Shores. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Austin Fetterly, Dillon Liberty, Kyle Brothers, and Adam Arseneault, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Mancina rejected 30 shots on goal for Leamington. The Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Campbell recorded 49 saves for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
