Stoney Creek downs Niagara Falls, 5-2

Even with Michael Christou's two points, the Niagara Falls Canucks fell 5-2 to the Stoney Creek Warriors.

In a losing effort, Niagara Falls was led by Christou, who registered two goals. Christou scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 51 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 Stoney Creek. Marcus Michalski provided the assist. Christou's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Stoney Creek with 7:42 left in the second period. The Canucks earned a power play opportunity when Wesley St. Amand was put in the box for slashing. Darren Young assisted on the tally.

Stoney Creek's offense rang up 32 shots on Niagara Falls' net. The Warriors outdid their season average for goals scored. Stoney Creek averages 2.9 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Warriors were helped by Jake Milligan, who finished with one goal and one assist. Milligan scored 11:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stoney Creek. Jake Bain picked up the assist. Stoney Creek additionally got points from Jordan Thomas, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Stoney Creek also got a goal from Parsa Monsef as well. In addition, Stoney Creek received assists from Zach Niemanen, who had two and Neil Aird and Blake Luscombe, who each chipped in one.

The Canucks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Niagara Falls was held below its usual level of production. The Canucks put an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game.

Alexander Brooks-Potts recorded 21 saves for Stoney Creek. The Warriors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Stoney Creek ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Aird was ejected from the game. Niagara Falls' Hunter Johnson stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Canucks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
