Leamington downs Strathroy in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Brett Langlois gave the Leamington Flyers a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Strathroy Rockets when he scored 2:54 into the extra period.

Leamington almost relinquished a two-score lead. The Flyers made the score 3-1 on a power play goal by Joe Manchurek at 11:19 in the second period. Strathroy pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Dylan Wilson-Foote at 55 seconds in the third period.

Leamington's penalty kill excelled, as the Flyers gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Leamington stifled the Rockets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Strathroy was unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Leamington eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Leamington also got a goal from Alex Seguin as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Tony Spidalieri, who had two and Kyle Shaw, David Dalby, Nathan Opblinger, Chris Scott, and Kyle Bowman, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets' offense rang up 37 shots on the Flyers' net. Strathroy was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 42 penalty minutes.

Strathroy also got points from Stuart King, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mike Mandarelli also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Tyler Duarte, Blake O`Neill, and Wes Baker, who each chipped in one.

Matt Mancina made 34 saves for Leamington on 37 shots. The Flyers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 3-for-10 on the power play. For Leamington, Dalby was ejected from the game. Dalen Kuchmey rejected 34 shots on goal for the Rockets. Strathroy ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyler Coleman was ejected from the game.
