The LaSalle Vipers fell to the St. Thomas Stars, 7-3.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 29 seconds into the second period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with seven game misconducts.

St. Thomas racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and three majors for 59 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game the Stars had been spending in the box. St. Thomas forced LaSalle goalie Taylor Speed to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Stars found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. St. Thomas averages 3.9 goals per game.

The Stars were helped by Drew Collinson, who tallied one goal. Collinson scored 10:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Thomas. Colin Mooney provided the assist. St. Thomas additionally got points from Ryan Hamelin, who also had one goal and one assist, Martin Kudla, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Luc Knight, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Mooney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Blair Mincer also scored for St. Thomas. More assists for St. Thomas came via Scott Mitchell, Mike Iacocca, Braden Hellems, Trevor Abbott, Michael Lucifora, and Chris Maton, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers were often in penalty trouble, totaling four minors and four majors for 48 minutes in penalty time. LaSalle surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Vipers were helped by Blake Jones, who had one goal. Jones scored 15:02 into the third period to make the score 4-3 St. Thomas. Brad Carroll assisted on the tally.
