Huge game by Divo boosts Kitchener over Brampton, 3-0

John Divo had one goal and two assists to lead the Kitchener Dutchmen to a 3-0 victory over the Brampton Bombers.

Divo scored on the power play 27 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener. Matt Guild provided the assist. Divo dished an assist on Brett Clampitt's goal that made the score 2-0 Kitchener at 13:13 into the second period. He added another helper on Jesse Young's goal that made the score 3-0 Kitchener at 13:43 into the second period.

Kitchener excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Brampton was unable to stop the Dutchmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Kitchener eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Dutchmen's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Kitchener additionally got points from Clampitt, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Kitchener came via Philip Moser and Keli Grant, who each chipped in one.

The Bombers' offense operated below they season average. Brampton averages 2.7 goals per game. The Bombers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Kitchener's Marc Williams stopped 24 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Dutchmen incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Erik Angeli made 29 saves for Brampton on 32 shots. The Bombers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Allan was ejected from the game.
