Karaim's hat trick boosts St. Catharines over Stoney Creek, 4-1

The Stoney Creek Warriors could not stop the St. Catharines Falcons' Luke Karaim, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Karaim notched his first tally 15:29 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:21 into the second and at 12:34 into the second.

St. Catharines was led by goalie Stormer Santana, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Santana certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.67 entering the contest.

The Falcons stifled Stoney Creek's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Catharines could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Falcons put an average of 6.2 pucks into the net per game. St. Catharines' offense rang up 34 shots on the Warriors' net. The Falcons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

Spencer DeWolfe also scored for St. Catharines. More assists for St. Catharines came via Ben Walsh, who had two, Mitch Bennett, who had three, and Dan MacEachern, Jake Bowman, and Riley Dunda, who contributed one a piece.

Stoney Creek could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Warriors were led by Marco Mattina, who scored the team's only goal. Mattina scored 58 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Alexander Zaccaria assisted on the tally.

St. Catharines registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Alexander Brooks-Potts recorded 30 saves for Stoney Creek. The Warriors registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities. For Stoney Creek, Parsa Monsef and Mitch Graham were ejected from the contest.
