Lambton Shores hangs on, beats Sarnia 2-0

Austin Fetterly gave the Lambton Shores Predators the lead in the first period, and the Sarnia Legionnaires was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Lambton Shores took over the lead for good with a goal by Fetterly at 13:20 in the first period. Bryan Boersma assisted on the tally.

Brandon Campbell frustrated Sarnia's offense all game, and stopped 31 shots en route to a shutout. Campbell managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.95 prior to the game.

The Predators were paced by Fetterly, who had one goal.

Lambton Shores put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Legionnaires to score on any of their five power plays.

Lambton Shores also got a goal from Cale Duberry as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Jim McKinlay and Matt Ross, who each chipped in one.

Sarnia did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Legionnaires average 3.5 goals per game. Sarnia forced the Predators goalie Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Lambton Shores incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Legionnaires' Sean Parker stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Sarnia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
