The Niagara Falls Canucks relied on the sparkling performance of Hunter Johnson in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Welland Jr. Canadians.

Welland's power play was ineffective against Niagara Falls' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Canucks were sparked by Cole Vinnai, who had one goal. Vinnai scored 4:53 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls. Drew Berkel provided the assist.

Niagara Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Welland power plays. The Canucks forced the Jr. Canadians goalie Chris McDougall to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.
