Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Fort Erie Meteors defeated the Port Colborne Pirates in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO). The shootout featured 10 attempts between both teams. Port Colborne got a shootout goal from Bryan Komasara. Fort Erie's other shootout goal was scored by Mike Boles.The Meteors saw a three-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Fort Erie made the score 3-0 on a power play goal by Nik Passero at 14:33 in the second period. The Pirates evened things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Dima Lavrenov at 11:29 in the third period. The Meteors got the win behind a great game by Anthony Passero, who had one goal and two assists. Passero scored 13:35 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Fort Erie. Jesse Pereira assisted on the tally. Fort Erie's offense rang up 38 shots on Port Colborne's net. Fort Erie also got points from Pereira, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Aaron Wanat, who had one and Dallas Ingram, who had two. The Pirates kept the Meteors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Wyatt Pickrell made 48 saves on 51 shots. Port Colborne got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Pirates were helped by Joe Dagostino, who had one goal.
