St. Catharines blows out Stoney Creek, 4-1

The St. Catharines Falcons were firing on all cylinders against the Stoney Creek Warriors, and when the final buzzer sounded Falcons emerged with a 4-1 win.

Stoney Creek's power play was ineffective against St. Catharines' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Falcons were led by Braeden Kavaravtzis, who had one goal. Kavaravtzis scored 14:53 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. Riley Dunda picked up the assist.

St. Catharines excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Others who scored for St. Catharines included Julian Luciani, who had one and Jordan Bailey, who had two. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Mitch Bursey, who had two and Jimmy Sheehan, Nathan Granitto, Ben Walsh, Greg Jambrosich, and Dan MacEachern, who each chipped in one.

Jonathon D Ilario recorded 16 saves for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Warriors' Brendan Polasek stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Stoney Creek incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
