Lambton Shores survives LaSalle comeback, wins 6-4

The Lambton Shores Predators survived a determined comeback attempt by the LaSalle Vipers on the way to a 6-4 win.

Lambton Shores took a 5-1 lead during the third period, only to have LaSalle storm back on a Dylan Denomme goal 18:20 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Predators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Lambton Shores found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Predators average 3.3 goals per game.

The Vipers forced Lambton Shores goalie Brandon Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Penalties took their toll on LaSalle, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

The Vipers were helped by Graeme Brown, who registered one goal. Brown scored 19:56 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Lambton Shores. Richard Villani provided the assist. LaSalle also got points from Dylan Seguin, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Blake Jones also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Chad Shepley, Rio Anzolin, Scott Prier, and Eric Noel, who contributed one a piece.

Campbell recorded 34 saves for the Predators. Lambton Shores incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Conner MacKinnon made 13 saves for LaSalle on 18 shots. The Vipers ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. LaSalle ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brendan McCann was ejected from the game.
