Machalski leads Cambridge to shutout victory over ListowelGalt Arena Gardens Sat, Dec 22, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Lucas Machalski recorded a shutout against the Listowel Cyclones as the Cambridge Winter Hawks picked up a 3-0 win. Cambridge was sparked by Chris Taylor, who racked up one goal and one assist. Taylor scored 16:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge. Mitch Klie picked up the assist. The Winter Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Listowel power plays. Cambridge was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Winter Hawks allow 2.6 goals per game. Cambridge kept Listowel's goalie busy throughout the game, and Drew Reinhardt made 35 saves on 38 shots. Cambridge also got a goal from Hudson Michaelis as well. In addition, Cambridge received assists from Christian Barnard, Mitch Facey, and Jimmy Roy, who contributed one a piece. The Cyclones did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Listowel puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. The Winter Hawks were unable to stop the Cyclones from sending pucks towards the net, and Listowel eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Machalski rejected 34 shots on goal for Cambridge.
