Guelph falls to Listowel after surprising comeback

The Listowel Cyclones climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Guelph Hurricanes, 5-4.

Listowel never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Cyclones fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Guelph's Dustin Baker at 3:49 in the second period. Listowel tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ben Shelley at 3:09 in the third period. The Cyclones got the game winner at 19:59 in the third period on a goal by Shelley.

Caleb Cameron was all over the ice for Listowel, as he had two goals in the win.

The Hurricanes were unable to stop the Cyclones from sending pucks towards the net, and Listowel eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Listowel additionally got points from Patrick Bell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Listowel also got a goal from Colten Pickett as well. More assists for Listowel came via Jacob Robitaille, who had two and Reid Simmons, Mac Nichol, Scott Coghlin, Tanner Mighton, Brandon Eagles, and Sam Feagan, who each chipped in one.

Guelph got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Guelph also got points from Ian Chan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Mike Wilkins also scored for Guelph. In addition, Guelph received assists from Sebastian Stangherlin, who had two and Craig Martini, Chad Herron, and Matt Lippa, who contributed one a piece.

Daniel Dekoning rejected 20 shots on goal for the Cyclones. Listowel incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jason DaSilva made 43 saves for the Hurricanes on 48 shots. Guelph incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
