Dalen Kuchmey recorded a shutout against the St. Thomas Stars as the Strathroy Rockets picked up a 2-0 win. St. Thomas' power play was ineffective against Strathroy's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Rockets were sparked by Adam Vandersluis, who had one goal. Vandersluis scored 1:13 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. Jordan DaSilva assisted on the tally. Strathroy excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Ryan Field also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Max Naus and Nick Boyer, who contributed one a piece. The Stars stifled the Rockets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Thomas did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Stars average 3.8 goals per game. St. Thomas kept Strathroy's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kuchmey made 41 saves on 41 shots. The Rockets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Strathroy ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Trevor Dulong was ejected from the game. Donald Edwards rejected 28 shots on goal for the Stars.
