Pat McKelvie(APJ) racked up one point to lead the Elmira Sugar Kings to a 2-1 victory over the Guelph Hurricanes.

Elmira was shut out on the power play, going scoring scoreless on nine chances with a man advantage.

James Mildon also scored for Elmira. More assists for Elmira came via Cass Frey, Zac Coulter, Mitch Wright, and Matt Harding, who each chipped in one.

Guelph stifled the Sugar Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hurricanes' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Guelph finished with 26 penalty minutes.

The Hurricanes were led by Chad Herron, who scored the team's only goal. Herron scored short handed 2:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Guelph found itself down a man on Zach McFadden's slashing.

Mackenzie Blackwood made 14 saves for Elmira on 15 shots. The Sugar Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jason DaSilva recorded 24 saves for the Hurricanes. Guelph registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
