Listowel uses shootout to best Stratford, 2-1 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Listowel Cyclones defeated the Stratford Cullitons in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.

Listowel was led by goalie Drew Reinhardt, who finished with 41 saves while allowing one goal. Reinhardt certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.38 entering the contest.

The Cyclones excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Listowel's offense rang up 32 shots on Stratford's net.

The Cyclones were led by Patrick Bell, who registered one goal. Bell scored 12:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. Scott Pawson picked up the assist.

The Cullitons stifled Listowel's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stratford was held below its usual level of production. The Cullitons average 3.6 goals per game. Stratford's offense rang up 42 shots on the Cyclones' net.

The Cullitons were led by Jake Ryan, who scored the team's only goal. Ryan scored 10:38 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Andrew Barton provided the assist.

Listowel incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Michael Pesendorfer made 30 saves for Stratford on 31 shots. The Cullitons incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
