London wins tough contest against LaSalle, 4-2

The London Nationals and the LaSalle Vipers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but London made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Noah Schwartz's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

The Nationals were sparked by Schwartz, who finished with one goal and one assist. Schwartz scored 14:20 into the second period to make the score 3-2 London. Paxton Leroux assisted on the tally.

London also got points from Leroux, who also registered one goal and one assist and Blake Thomas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. London also got a goal from Keaton Ratcliffe as well. Other players who recorded assists for London were Lance Pridham, Ryan Wells, and Ethan Szypula, who each chipped in one.

LaSalle kept London's goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Edwards made 33 saves on 35 shots.

The Vipers were helped by Eric Noel, who tallied one goal. Noel scored 10:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 LaSalle. Chad Shepley picked up the assist. Korey Morgan also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Dylan Denomme, Ben Hanus, and Brendan McCann, who contributed one a piece.

The Nationals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. London ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Robert MacFarlane was ejected from the game. Taylor Speed recorded 26 saves for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For LaSalle, Richard Villani was ejected from the game.
