Stoney Creek wins tough contest against Buffalo, 6-4Valley Park Arena Sat, Dec 08, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Stoney Creek Warriors escaped with a 6-4 victory over the Buffalo Jr. Blades. Stoney Creek gained the winning advantage on a goal by Harry Polyoka 12:06 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Polyoka was all over the ice for the Warriors, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:17 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Buffalo was unable to stop Stoney Creek from sending pucks towards the net, and the Warriors eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Stoney Creek surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Warriors average 2.9 goals per contest. Stoney Creek got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
