Matt Coulombe recorded a shutout against the Buffalo Jr. Blades as the Welland Jr. Canadians picked up a 2-0 win.

Buffalo's power play was ineffective against Welland's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Jr. Canadians were led by Adam Barron, who had one goal. Barron scored 7:45 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Welland. Jason Lacroix provided the assist.

Welland put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jr. Blades to score on any of their six power plays.
