Duberry's hat trick boosts Lambton Shores over Chatham, 5-3

Cale Duberry lifted the Lambton Shores Predators to a 5-3 victory with a hat trick against the Chatham Maroons.

Duberry notched his first tally 4:33 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:15 into the second and at 5:02 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:42 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Lambton Shores kept Chatham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Scott Tricker made 30 saves on 35 shots. The Predators capitalized on the Maroons' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Lambton Shores also got points from Ryan Rontondi, who also registered one goal and one assist. Adam Arseneault also scored for Lambton Shores. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Kyle Brothers, who had three, Adam Wammes and Ferdinando Colella, who contributed one a piece, and Tanner Ferguson and Cleo Gubbles, who each chipped in two.

Chatham forced Lambton Shores goalie Brandon Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

The Maroons were led by Blake Blondeel, who had two goals. Blondeel scored the first of his two goals at 14:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chatham. Brennan Feasey picked up the assist. Blondeel's next tally made the score 3-3 with 15:37 left in the third period. Chatham had gained a power play chance when Ferguson was whistled for boarding. Sean Myers assisted on the tally. Chatham also got a goal from Jake Flegel as well. More assists for Chatham came via Steven Szekesy, Brayden Hopkins, and Michael Verboom, who contributed one a piece.

Campbell recorded 38 saves for the Predators. Lambton Shores ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. The Predators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bryan Boersma was ejected from the game. The Maroons totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Chatham, Blondeel was ejected from the game.
