Hunter Johnson was superb between the pipes for the Niagara Falls Canucks, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Welland Jr. Canadians.

Niagara Falls was led by Tory McLean, who registered one goal. McLean scored 2:13 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Niagara Falls. Garrett Gallardi picked up the assist.

The Canucks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Niagara Falls forced Welland goalie Matt Coulombe to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Michael Christou also scored for Niagara Falls. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Johnny Curran and Vito Scaringi, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Canadians stifled the Canucks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Welland was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Canadians average 3.8 goals per game.

Johnson rejected 27 shots on goal for Niagara Falls. The Canucks totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For Niagara Falls, Frank Nemeth was ejected from the game. Coulombe recorded 39 saves for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
