Dulong leads Strathroy over Sarnia, 7-3

The Strathroy Rockets' Trevor Dulong had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 7-3 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires.

Dulong's tallies came at 13:58 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Strathroy and 14:29 into the third to make the score 7-3 Strathroy.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:33 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Strathroy's offense rang up 41 shots on Sarnia's net. The Rockets found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Strathroy averages 3.2 goals per game.

Strathroy also got points from Wes Baker, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Kurtis Sander as well. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Jordan DaSilva, Micheal Woolley, Chase Thornton, and Max Naus, who contributed one a piece and Matthew Watson, Brett Dalton, and Blake O`Neill, who each chipped in two.

The the Legionnaires penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. Sarnia had been averaging 26.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Rockets were unable to stop the Legionnaires from sending pucks towards the net, and Sarnia eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Legionnaires were led by Jason Teschke, who registered one goal and two assists. Teschke scored on the power play 41 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-3 Strathroy. Davis Boyer picked up the assist. Sarnia additionally got points from Boyer, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Derek D`Andrea also scored for Sarnia. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Matt Cimetta, who had one and Jeff King, who had two.

Strathroy's Dalen Kuchmey stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Rockets totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and two majors and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Team's Woolley and Tyler Coleman were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Sean Parker rejected 34 shots on goal for Sarnia. The Legionnaires registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For Sarnia, Nathan Mater and Thomas Moxley were ejected from the contest.
