Stratford rolls over Kitchener, 5-1

The Stratford Cullitons were firing on all cylinders against the Kitchener Dutchmen, and when the final buzzer sounded Cullitons emerged with a 5-1 win.

Stratford's penalty kill excelled, as the Cullitons gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Stratford was sparked by Mitch Brooks, who had one goal. Brooks scored 7:12 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Stratford. Mike Pleon provided the assist.

The Cullitons stifled Kitchener's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stratford forced the Dutchmen goalie Marc Williams to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Stratford also got points from Pleon, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Andrew Barton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Shane O Brien also scored for Stratford. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Jonathan Langford, Josh Miller, Jake Pleon, Brett Heaman, Jared Culliton, and Jake Ryan, who contributed one a piece.

Kitchener stifled the Cullitons' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Dutchmen could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Kitchener puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game.

Nick Caldwell made 23 saves for Stratford on 24 shots. The Cullitons incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Williams rejected 28 shots on goal for the Dutchmen. Kitchener incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
