LaSalle downs Guelph, 6-2Vollmer Recreation Complex Wed, Nov 07, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Evan Makaric finished with one point to lead the LaSalle Vipers to a 6-2 victory over the Guelph Hurricanes. Guelph was unable to stop LaSalle from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vipers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. LaSalle bested its season scoring average. This season, the Vipers average 3.9 goals per contest. LaSalle also got points from Ben Hanus, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Eric Noel, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for LaSalle included Nathan Veres, who had one and Korey Morgan, who had two. More assists for LaSalle came via Dylan Denomme, who had three and Rio Anzolin, Zack Percy, Daniel Slipchuk, Dylan Seguin, and Brendan McCann, who contributed one a piece. The Hurricanes' offense were handcuffed by LaSalle's defensive play, and Guelph managed only nine shots on goal during the game. The Hurricanes were helped by Ian Chan, who had one goal. Chan scored on the power play 11:19 into the second period to make the score 3-2 LaSalle. Guelph had gotten the advantage when the Vipers' Makaric was sent off for head contact. Nico Giannantonio assisted on the tally. Brock Malatches also scored for Guelph. In addition, Guelph received assists from Sebastian Stangherlin, who had one. LaSalle's Conner MacKinnon stopped seven shots out of the nine that he faced. The Vipers totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For LaSalle, Makaric was ejected from the game. Quinton Henry made 34 saves for the Hurricanes on 40 shots. Guelph incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
