Strathroy uses shootout to best Lambton Shores, 3-2 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Strathroy Rockets defeated the Lambton Shores Predators in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed 10 turns to complete the shootout. Lambton Shores' shootout goal was scored by Kyle Brothers. Strathroy's other shootout goal was scored by Wes Baker.

The Rockets saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Strathroy made the score 2-0 on a power play goal by Blake O`Neill at 4:21 in the third period. The Predators evened things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Cale Duberry at 18:35 in the third period.

The Rockets pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 28 penalty minutes.

Strathroy's offense rang up 32 shots on Lambton Shores' net.

Tyler Duarte also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Jordan DaSilva, Ryan Field, and Chase Thornton, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets were unable to stop the Predators from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambton Shores eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Lambton Shores also got a goal from Tanner Ferguson as well. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Brothers and Adam Arseneault, who each chipped in two.

Gordie Weiss recorded 34 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Strathroy ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Luke Jackson was ejected from the game. Brandon Campbell made 29 saves for the Predators on 31 shots. Lambton Shores incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
