Caledonia rips Stratford, 4-1Haldimand Center Sat, Nov 03, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stratford Cullitons had trouble finding ways to stop the Caledonia Corvairs, which beat Cullitons, 4-1. Caledonia's Justis Husak was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Husak will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.87. The Corvairs were paced by Mitch Brown, who tallied one goal. Brown scored 14:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. Nate Mitton assisted on the tally. Caledonia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Corvairs' offense rang up 35 shots on Stratford's net. Caledonia additionally got points from Matt Quilty, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stratford struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 34 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays. The Cullitons were led by Jordan Currie, who scored the team's only goal. Currie scored 6:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Caledonia. Jake Ryan picked up the assist. The Corvairs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Stratford's Nick Caldwell stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced.
