Cambridge downs Brampton in overtime, 2-1 (OT)Galt Arena Gardens Sat, Nov 03, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cambridge Winter Hawks' Cameron Pentsa scored 2:10 into overtime to beat the Brampton Bombers, 2-1 (OT). Brampton was stymied by Cambridge netminder Lucas Machalski, who stopped 29 shots during the victory. The solid play of Machalski will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.35. The Winter Hawks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes. Cambridge stifled the Bombers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cambridge also got a goal from Hudson Michaelis as well. More assists for Cambridge came via Dylan Decker and Lawrence Pagnan, who contributed one a piece. Brampton was led by Calvin Gomes, who scored the team's only goal. Gomes scored 7:25 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Brad Sheppard provided the assist. The Winter Hawks registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Erik Angeli made 20 saves for the Bombers on 22 shots. Brampton incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
