The St. Catharines Falcons beat the Stoney Creek Warriors, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 2:30 into the the first period by Mitch Bennett proved to be the game winner, and powered St. Catharines to the victory Koddi Quick assisted on the tally.

The Falcons were led by Tyler Jackson, who finished with one goal. Jackson scored 4:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. Jesse Miller provided the assist.

St. Catharines excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Falcons' offense operated below they season average. St. Catharines averages 6.7 goals per game.

St. Catharines also got a goal from Luke Karaim as well. More assists for St. Catharines came via Ben Walsh, Dan MacEachern, Julian Luciani, and Andy Sturtz, who contributed one a piece.

Stoney Creek was led by Harry Polyoka, who scored the team's only goal. Polyoka scored 19:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. Wesley St. Amand picked up the assist.

The Falcons' Jonathon D Ilario stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. St. Catharines incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alexander Brooks-Potts made 22 saves for the Warriors on 25 shots. Stoney Creek incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
