The Strathroy Rockets' Nick Boyer scored 18 seconds into overtime to beat the Leamington Flyers, 2-1 (OT). Strathroy's Dalen Kuchmey was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 45 saves and let only one puck past him. Kuchmey managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.98 prior to the game. Leamington's power play was ineffective against the Rockets' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Wes Baker also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Tyler Duarte and Trevor Dulong, who each chipped in one. The Flyers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Leamington averages 3.6 goals per game. The Flyers' offense rang up 46 shots on Strathroy's net. Leamington was led by David Dalby, who scored the team's only goal. Dalby scored on the power play 11:56 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. An interference penalty on Adam Vandersluis had put the Flyers on the power play. Dakota Olvin picked up the assist. The Rockets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Austyn Roudebush rejected 20 shots on goal for Leamington. The Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Team's Alex Seguin and Tony Spidalieri were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
