Brampton downs Kitchener, 5-2

Brandon Clelland grabbed one point to lead the Brampton Bombers to a 5-2 victory over the Kitchener Dutchmen.

In the losing effort, Kitchener was led by Keli Grant, who had two goals. Grant scored the first of his two goals at 8:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Keegan Alvestad picked up the assist. Grant's next tally made the score 2-2 with 13:15 left in the second period.

Brampton put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Dutchmen to score on any of their five power plays.

Brampton also got points from Brad Sheppard, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Brampton also had goals scored by Nik Borschevsky, who had one and Brady Clouthier, who had two. More assists for Brampton came via Josh Villaflor, who had two and Jacob Hanlon, Jake Gilmour, and Greg Wilson, who each chipped in one.

Kitchener was held below its usual level of production. The Dutchmen average 4.1 goals per game. Kitchener kept the Bombers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryan Raymond made 31 saves on 33 shots.

Brampton totaled 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Bombers, Phil Caputo and Brendan Lyons were ejected from the contest. The Dutchmen's Jack Moylan stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Kitchener ended with 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors. Team's Brett Clampitt and Steven Jakiela were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
