Fort Erie blows out Buffalo, 5-2

The Buffalo Jr. Blades had trouble finding ways to stop the Fort Erie Meteors, which beat Jr. Blades, 5-2.

Jesse Parker had two goals and one assist to lead Fort Erie. Parker scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Fort Erie. The Meteors had gained a power play chance when Gary Seitz was whistled for elbowing. Nik Passero assisted on the tally. Parker's next tally on the power play made the score 5-1 Fort Erie with 14:10 left in the third period. Passero provided the assist.

Fort Erie's penalty kill excelled, as the Meteors gave up zero goals despite allowing 11 power plays.

Fort Erie stifled Buffalo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Meteors kept the Jr. Blades' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Shorthouse made 38 saves on 43 shots. Fort Erie was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 50 penalty minutes.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Anthony Passero, who also had one goal and two assists. Riley Devine also scored for Fort Erie. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Dallas Ingram, Andrew Reis, and Kyle Marino, who each chipped in one.

Buffalo found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

The Jr. Blades were led by Nick Berst, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Berst scored 9:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fort Erie. Josh Marr assisted on the tally. Buffalo also got a goal from Josh Gordon as well.

Connor Visca recorded 24 saves for the Meteors.
