London wins tough contest against Sarnia, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the London Nationals escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Sarnia Legionnaires.

London gained the winning advantage on a goal by Noah Schwartz 19:06 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Schwartz was all over the ice for the Nationals, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win.

London's penalty kill excelled, as the Nationals gave up zero goals despite allowing 11 power plays.

London stifled Sarnia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Nationals kept the Legionnaires' goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Parker made 30 saves on 34 shots. London could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 64 minutes in penalties during the game.

London additionally got points from Aaron Dartch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Connor Allison also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Blake Thomas, who had two.

Sarnia was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 44 penalty minutes.

The Legionnaires were helped by Davis Boyer, who tallied one goal. Boyer scored 9:10 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Sarnia. Derek D`Andrea assisted on the tally. Sarnia also got a goal from Brent Sauve as well. More assists for Sarnia came via Jason Teschke, Jeff Bauer, and Tyler Prong, who contributed one a piece.

Taylor Edwards recorded 28 saves for the Nationals. London registered two goals on five power play opportunities. The Nationals ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Wells was ejected from the game.
