Chatham downs Leamington, 6-2

Blake Blondeel racked up one point to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 6-2 victory over the Leamington Flyers.

Chatham took advantage of Leamington's penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. The Maroons were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time.

Chatham additionally got points from Trevor Richardson, who also had one goal and one assist, Brayden Hopkins, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ian Faubert, who also had one goal and one assist. Sean Myers also scored for Chatham. More assists for Chatham came via Jake Flegel, Nate Pietens, and Alexander Morgan, who contributed one a piece and Steven Szekesy and Eric Palazzolo, who each chipped in two.

The Flyers were helped by Jared Dennis, who tallied one goal. Dennis scored on the power play 10:20 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Chatham. Leamington earned a power play opportunity when Richardson was put in the box for roughing after whistle. Kyle Bowman picked up the assist. Leamington also got a goal from Alex Seguin as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Nick Beaune and Dakota Olvin, who contributed one a piece.

Darien Ekblad took the win and made 27 saves before being replaced by Scott Tricker who made zero saves. For Chatham, Evan Mascaro was ejected from the game. Austyn Roudebush made 18 saves for the Flyers on 24 shots. Leamington totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. The Flyers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Troy Cox was ejected from the game.
