Leamington downs Lambton Shores in overtime, 6-5 (OT)The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Sep 29, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Leamington Flyers' Chris Scott scored 4:42 into overtime to beat the Lambton Shores Predators, 6-5 (OT). Lambton Shores could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. Leamington made it 5-3 on a goal by Bryce Doan at 9:11 in the third period. The Predators pulled to within 5-4 on a goal by Adam Arseneault at 10:28 in the third period. Riley Babkirk had a great game for the Flyers, netting two goals. Babkirk's tallies came at 1:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Leamington and 5:20 into the third to make the score 4-3 Leamington. Leamington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Flyers forced Lambton Shores goalie Brandon Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Leamington's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Leamington also got points from Doan, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Leamington also got a goal from Jacob McGhee as well. More assists for Leamington came via Joe Manchurek, who had three, J.P. Grineau, Tony Spidalieri, and Eric Leardi, who contributed one a piece, and Brett Babkirk and Alex Seguin, who each chipped in two. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Ryan Rontondi, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Matthew Lencz also scored for Lambton Shores.
