Behind a great game by Ben Walsh, who had one goal and five assists, the St. Catharines Falcons defeated the Fort Erie Meteors, 9-1. Walsh scored 11:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Julian Luciani provided the assist. Walsh dished an assist on Jimmy Sheehan's goal that made the score 4-1 St. Catharines at 14:40 into the second period. He then added assists on Luke Karaim's goal at 18:57 into the second, on Luciani's goal at 30 seconds into the third, on Tyler Jackson's goal at 5:55 into the third, and on Andy Sturtz's goal at 9:28 into the third.St. Catharines was led by goalie Jonathon D Ilario, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. D Ilario managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.8 prior to the game. The Falcons forced Fort Erie's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 51 shots and forcing 42 saves. Connor Visca made 38 stops and Wyatt Pickrell made four. St. Catharines outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Falcons average 6.7 goals per contest. St. Catharines was effective with a man advantage, and put in five goals while on the power play. The defensemen of the Falcons were also effective in the Meteors' zone, and came away with two goals. St. Catharines also got points from Sheehan, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Jackson, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Luciani, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Anthony Pullia, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Sturtz, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, and Karaim, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Koddi Quick, who had one and Spencer DeWolfe, who had two. Fort Erie could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Meteors put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Fort Erie struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 36 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays. The Meteors were led by Dallas Ingram, who scored the team's only goal. Ingram scored on the power play 13:02 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Catharines. Fort Erie earned a power play opportunity when Greg Jambrosich was put in the box for slashing. Cameron Fairgrieve picked up the assist. St. Catharines incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Falcons, Mitch Bursey was ejected from the game. The Meteors registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
