Dalen Kuchmey was superb between the pipes for the Strathroy Rockets, as he did not allow a goal in a 2-0 victory over the LaSalle Vipers.

Strathroy was sparked by Chase Thornton, who finished with one goal. Thornton scored 8:22 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. Stuart King provided the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:59 into the third period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with nine game misconducts.

The Rockets racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and two majors for 36 minutes in penalty time. Strathroy surpassed its season average of 28.0 penalty minutes per game. The Rockets stifled LaSalle's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Strathroy's defense was surprisingly good. The Rockets gives up 2.8 goals on average per game.

Strathroy also got a goal from Tyler Coleman as well.

The Vipers were often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and three majors for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 27.0 minutes per game LaSalle had been spending in the box. The Vipers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Strathroy to score on any of its seven power plays. LaSalle did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Vipers average 3.7 goals per game.

Kuchmey recorded 30 saves for the Rockets. For Strathroy, Nick Boyer and Brett Dyck were ejected from the contest. Conner MacKinnon made 23 saves for LaSalle on 25 shots. The Vipers registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. Team's Chad Shepley, Brad Carroll, and Brendan McCann were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
