Waterloo downs Guelph, 3-1

James Soper tallied one point to lead the Waterloo Siskins to a 3-1 victory over the Guelph Hurricanes.

Guelph was unable to stop Waterloo from sending pucks towards the net, and the Siskins eventually piled up 54 shots on goal. Team could not crack the Hurricanes' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Waterloo additionally got points from Adam Campagnolo, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Waterloo also got a goal from Eric Cimino as well. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Matthew Mah and Ted Anstett, who each chipped in one.

Guelph was led by Matt Lippa, who scored the team's only goal. Lippa scored on the power play 12:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph. The Hurricanes had gained a power play chance when Ryan Doucette was whistled for roughing. Bradley Yowart assisted on the tally.

PJ Bridges recorded 20 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. Waterloo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Keigan Goetz was ejected from the game. Guelph's Quinton Henry stopped 51 shots out of the 54 that he faced. The Hurricanes incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors.
