A hat trick by Eric Palazzolo was the highlight in Maroons' 6-4 win against the Lambton Shores Predators. Palazzolo got on the scoresheet 2:20 into the second period. He then added goals at 17:30 into the second and at 18:58 into the third.The Chatham Maroons led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Chatham's Michael Levesque's scored at 6:00 in the third period to put the Maroons up 5-2. Lambton Shores' power play was ineffective against Chatham's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Maroons were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. Chatham surpassed its season average of 44.0 penalty minutes per game. The Maroons' offense rang up 32 shots on the Predators' net. Chatham also got a goal from Jake Flegel as well. In addition, Chatham received assists from Evan Mascaro, Sean Myers, and Blake Blondeel, who each chipped in one and Michael Verboom and Ian Faubert, who contributed three a piece. Lambton Shores kept Chatham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Darien Ekblad made 27 saves on 31 shots. The Predators were helped by Adam Arseneault, who racked up two goals and one assist. Arseneault scored the first of his two goals at 3:38 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chatham. Kyle Brothers assisted on the tally. Arseneault's next tally made the score 5-3 Chatham with 3:15 left in the third period. Kyler Keating provided the assist. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Ryan Rontondi, who also had one goal and three assists and Brothers, who also registered one goal and two assists. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Tanner Ferguson, who had one. The Maroons registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Chatham, Nate Pietens and Marco Canzoneri were ejected from the contest. Justin Tugwell made 26 saves for Lambton Shores on 32 shots. The Predators ended with 27 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Lambton Shores ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bryan Boersma was ejected from the game.
