O Brien lifts Stratford over Brampton, 7-4

Shane O Brien was all over the ice for the Stratford Cullitons, as he tallied two goals in Stratford's 7-4 win over the Brampton Bombers.

O Brien's tallies came at 7:21 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Stratford and on the power play 9:38 into the second to make the score 3-2 Stratford.

The Cullitons made Brampton's netminders to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots and forcing 40 saves. Erik Angeli made 29 stops and Bryan Raymond made 11.

Stratford also got points from Ryan Watson, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Andrew Barton, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Jake Pleon also scored for Stratford. More assists for Stratford came via Jonathan Langford, Ryan Sykes, Brett Heaman, Dylan Wettlaufer, and Ryker Killins, who contributed one a piece and Mitch Brooks and Trevor Sauder, who each chipped in two.

The Bombers' offense rang up 31 shots on Stratford's net.

Brampton was helped by Michael Darrigo, who registered two goals and one assist. Darrigo scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:18 into the third period to make the score 6-3 Stratford. A roughing penalty on Mitch Vandergunst had put the Bombers on the power play. Brady Clouthier provided the assist. Darrigo's next tally on the power play made the score 6-4 Stratford with 12:05 left in the third period. Brampton earned a power play opportunity when Brooks was put in the box for unsportsmanlike conduct. Clouthier assisted on the tally. Brampton additionally got points from Clouthier, who also had one goal and two assists. Brampton also got a goal from Greg Wilson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Jacob Hanlon, who had two and Brock Malatches and Nik Borschevsky, who contributed one a piece.

Nick Caldwell made 27 saves for the Cullitons on 31 shots. Stratford incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Bombers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
