Waterloo rides Bridges to victory over Listowel, 6-1

The Waterloo Siskins relied on the sparkling performance of PJ Bridges in net to grab a 6-1 win against the Listowel Cyclones.

Waterloo pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Siskins were led by Christian Mroczkowski, who finished with one goal and one assist. Mroczkowski scored on the power play 19:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Waterloo. Waterloo had gotten the advantage when Listowel's Mac Nichol was sent off for hooking. Andrew Brubacher provided the assist.

The Siskins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Listowel power plays. Waterloo kept the Cyclones' goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Dekoning made 41 saves on 47 shots. The Siskins bested their season scoring average. Waterloo averages 3.3 goals per game.

Waterloo also got points from Ryan Doucette, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Adam Campagnolo, who also registered one goal and one assist. Keigan Goetz also scored for Waterloo. More assists for Waterloo came via Michael Ryan and Brock Campbell, who each chipped in one and Trevor Atkinson APJ and Stephen Witiuk, who contributed two a piece.

The Siskins were unable to stop Listowel from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cyclones eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Listowel was led by Jacob Robitaille, who scored the team's only goal. Robitaille scored 9:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. Sam Harris assisted on the tally.

Bridges recorded 38 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins registered one goal on five power play opportunities. The Cyclones incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
